On September 26-27 the City of Little Rock’s Racial and Cultural Diversity Commission will host WorldFest 2008. This years theme, “WorldFest: Diversity and Environmental Education for Everyone”will be the inspiration for diversity education and celebration. The event offers a taste of diverse music, arts, cultures, foods, and unique traditions represented in Arkansas. It was recently awarded the 1st place Cultural Diversity Award with the National League of Cities.
This year at WorldFest we are asking you to join us by playing an active role. The Commission has dedicated Friday, September 26th from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm as “Showcase of Schools” day. The Showcase is an excellent opportunity for schools to provide an educational fun-filled interactive Field Trip and learning experience for their students. Those students with writing talents are encouraged to participate in the Creative Writing Contest.
Schools with diversity or ethnic clubs are encouraged to register for WorldFest by completing the School Participation Form. This form must be completed and returned to the Commission office by September 5th, 2008.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us by phone or email. We look forward to working with you.
